Updated cancellation behavior for Microsoft CSP subscriptions
Minor Upgrade
This release updates how cancellations for Microsoft CSP subscriptions are handled to align with Microsoft’s latest requirements.
Within the AppDirect platform, when a customer schedules a cancellation, the subscription is cancelled at the end of its contract term. This is not changing.
However, Microsoft has introduced a new cancellation API option that, if left unset, may cause a subscription to transition to an EST (Extended Service Term) offer at the end of the contract term.
We’ve updated our underlying cancellation workflow to use the correct API call, so that if a customer schedules a cancellation, it does not transition to an EST offer, preventing unexpected renewals and other discrepancies.
📝 Note:There is no change to the cancellation user experience itself.
This change also lays the foundation for Microsoft’s upcoming EST model changes, which will be supported starting April 1, 2026.
